“All Mounds Can Be Seen From My Window”
Exhibition Dates: March 5th – May 8th of 2016

“All Mounds Can Be Seen From My Window” is an international group exhibition that brings together paintings, objects, scenes and quotations to tell a story of an institution – the present Bunkier Sztuki Gallery of Contemporary Art. It is also a story about architecture by Krystyna Tołłoczko-Różyska and the attempts to search for a gallery space, both in the pages of its own history of Cracow’s artistic microclimate, and the ones of the national and international scene.

“Medicine in Art”

“Medicine in Art” is the 6th exhibition to date in MOCAK’s series which combines art with the most significant civilisational themes such as history, sport or economics. To date, five exhibitions have taken place: “History in Art”, “Sport in Art”, “Economics in Art”, “Crime in Art” and “Gender in Art”. The series aims to demonstrate how many creative inspirations and how much symbolic potential there lurks in the everyday reality. The exhibition will be accompanied by a comprehensive publication in Polish and English.

“Robert Devriendt”

An exhibition of the Belgian artist’s works is organised in co-operation with Groeninge Museum in Bruges. Devriendt creates series, each consisting of several small realistic paintings. The sequences make a story which has just happened or is about to happen. The artist, who describes himself as a peeper, is fascinated by the dark side of human nature.

Cricoteka, Centre for the Documentation of the Art of Tadeusz Kantor | ul. Nadwiślańska 2-4 | hours: 11 am – 7 pm

“Tadeusz Kantor. Episode Three. Marionette”
Exhibition Dates: February 16th of 2016 – January 29th of 2017

Cricoteka invites you for the next part of the exhibition devoted to the work of Tadeusz Kantor. This time, the exhibition is organized around the theme of marionettes and dummy and the role they play in the art of Tadeusz Kantor.
In the third facet of the exhibition we encourage a reflection on the tension between a living actor and his dummy, which exists in Tadeusz Kantor’s art. The sense of death is inherent in a mannequin, but at the same time a mannequin makes it possible to transcend death. According to Kantor, life can only be expressed by the lack thereof, by emptiness, by a dummy. We hope that the presented works will reveal the diversity – and often apparent contradiction – of meanings hidden in the figure of a puppet, which was so important for Tadeusz Kantor’s art.

Tadeusz Kantor. “I’m Goddamn Falling!
The exhibition is open till 15 May 2016

“I’m Goddamn Falling!” is an exhibition devoted to the final period of Tadeusz Kantor’s artistic and theatre activity which was initiated by the performances The Wedding (1986) and The Machine of love and Death (1987). Unlike the previous productions of the Theatre of Death this period is characterized by the beginning of Kantor’s pictorial theatre, referred to by the artist himself as “The Theatre of Love and Death”.

Piotr Sawicki – “Theater of time”

The “Theather of time” project was born in 2004, during a trip to France. Back then Piotr Sawicki was documenting the tour of Białystok Puppet Theatre, created by the photographer’s father, also Peter. That time proved to become the source of memories and flashbacks, initially associated mainly with the figure of the father and theatrical tour experienced together.
The images developed back then Sawicki began to treat gradually, as the vast canvas of the project. Moving around the private archives of memory, he was combining past events with present situations. The tours taken into the areas of his reminiscences has done more than felicitating the encounter with the father. Re-taking the topics from the earlier works had brought a new portrait of Białystok, a city to which Sawicki is very much attached, what he never fails to stress. The exhibition will be an opportunity to meet the artist and his works, photomontages, in which classical registration mingles with digital, creating a peculiar self-portrait.
